Price Rise for 2015

Jan 1 2015 has seen the substantial increase in disposal fees for the construction and demolition industry. One of the most popular landfill sites in perth has seen landfill costs appreciate 85% as 2014 passed into 2015. This represents the effect of a new government levy that has been introduced to limit the amount of Construction & Demolition (C&D) waste passing directly into landfill as unprocessed rubble.

Although the levy was imposed on landfill, most recycling facilities have also lifted their prices a similar amount for clean brick, clean concrete, and limestone. These materials are painstakingly separated by environment conscious demolition contractors so that they may be recycled immediately with no further processing.

The fact that costs have increased for C&D waste right across the spectrum means that contractors cannot avoid passing these costs on to our customers. It is still too early to guage the impact these price rises will have on the overall costs of a full house demolition, but we suspect a price hike of approximately 20% from those prices charged in 2014.

As the year progresses and further government mandated price rises come into effect every 6 months for the next 4 years, we at CLEAN SL8 Pty Ltd will seek alternative recycling means and more efficient work practices to ensure that our customers are not affected as much as those of other contractors 🙂

Liechardt st, St, James $15000

A 3×1 bedroom brick and tile home with limestone footings. Job was underquoted but fulfilled contract as quoted.

7 large Large trees and a full asbestos fence, eaves, portico, and sleepout had to be carefully removed prior to demolition.

We brought in our 16.5 INCH Rayco woodchipper to turn tree waste into woodchips for recycling.

Timbers, bricks, and metals recycled.

Demolition and site clear, Doubleview $15500

The demolition and site clear of 3×1 asbestos and tile home with limestone footings, 6mx3.5 full asbestos garage, and small trees in Doubleview.

This particular job had substantial concrete with 2 long driveways and rear patio area.

The garage had substantial concrete pad with large concrete footings.

Note the surprising amount of brickwork and concrete that is in the chimney and surrounding areas. This extra brick and concrete can lead to underquoting when one is quoting a full asbestos house.

A large amount of asbestos material was found in the kitchen area, bathroom and toilet.

Demolition and site clear Yirigan Drv Dianella $13000

3bdrm, brick and tile, concrete floor and footings, 1 medium sized tree.

The block was clean and the house was on the small side. There was no asbestos as the house was built in 1988.

Bricks, tiles, windows, timbers and all metals were salvaged.

This made for a relatively straight forward demolition process at an unbeatable price 🙂

Note, Positrac multi terrain loader is brought in to finish and level block.

Jackson Street, Bassendean $13000

A 3×1 Asbestos and tile home with limestone footings.

The block was exceptionally clean and small with small trees and shrubs. Asbestos (as always) requires slow and cautious manual removal thus we do not bring in the machines until all asbestos is removed, wrapped, and disposed.

On a lot of asbestos houses we choose to save costs by using the CAT 287B Positrac loader and helping to avoid logistical cots of the JCB 24 Tonne excavator.
